Thailand- There are now regular non-stop flights from Bangkok to Guilin with Bangkok Air. The flights are very comfortable but can be a bit pricey for asia. For cheaper alternatives Air Asia does very cheap flights from Bangkok to Shenzhen and Macau. Here is their website Air Asia
Hong Kong- There are regular flights to Guilin, but these flights can be very expensive. There are 3 daily flights. One arranged by Dragon Air, one by China Southern and one by Hong Kong Airlines. If you still want to fly but are on a budget, then look at getting flights out of Shenzhen. These are less than half the price of flights from Hong Kong. There are also more flights each day so you can arrive at your preferred time of the day
Shenzhen- There are several flights each day from Shenzhen to Guilin. You can purchase these over the internet in advance or you can purchase them at most travel agents in Hong Kong. If you are in Hong Kong, you could also purchase a combination high speed ferry/ flight ticket at a very good price. These combination tickets include a ferry from Kowloon to the port near Shenzhen's airport. Theres a free shuttle bus from the seaport to the airport, this makes it very convenient
Guangzhou- There are several daily flights from Guangzhou to Guilin
Trains
Guilin has two railways stations – Guilin Railway Station (South Station) is to the south of the city center but is more conveniently located of the two. Some thirty trains arrive and leave daily, as the city is the hub of the central China network. Guilin's major trunk routes link it with many domestic destinations. International trains from Beijing to Hanoi, Vietnam, pass Guilin twice a week, so do the trains from Hanoi to Beijing

Hong Kong- There are no direct trains out of Hong Kong to Guilin. The best option for a train is to cross the border into Shenzhen. From Shenzhen there is one train departing each evening for Guilin. See ‘Shenzhen below’
Shenzhen- There is one overnight train each day from Shenzhen to Guilin. This train has Soft and Hard sleeper berths. Buying train tickets in advance is usually difficult if you are overseas. We don't have any website that we can recommend for you to buy train tickets from
The only sound advice we can give you on how to buy tickets for these trains is to go to a China Travel Service branch in Hong Kong at least 3 days before the day you intend to take the train. They can then easily obtain the ticket/s for you. If you want to do it on your own, then you can just go to one of the ticket windows at the train station in Shenzhen. The train does get busy on weekends and any major Chinese holiday
Guangzhou- There are two daily trains. The K36 and T38. Contact Us for the latest schedules. Both these trains have soft and hard sleepers and will drop you off at the Guilin station. They also stop at the Guilin Bei (North) station. Do not get off here, get off at the Guilin main station
Vietnam- There are twice weekly direct trains from Hanoi to Guilin. The trip takes about 24 hours. You could also take a train to the border town of Lang Son and cross the Friendship pass into China. You would be arriving to the border town of Pingxiang. From here you can catch a train to Nanning and the bus to Guilin or you can catch a direct bus to Guilin
