From Beijing to Hong Kong and everywhere in between, October 1st will see massive celebrations for the 60th National Anniversary of the Peoples Republic of China. Its set to be the longest "Golden Week" holiday yet in China, from October 1st to 8th, as the National Day celebrations are combined with the Mid-Autumn Festival to create an eight day holiday...

When you here the term bullet train, you instantly think 'Japan'... but not for much longer. This year China will invest $50 billion in its new 'bullet train' rail system, more than double the amount spent in 2008. The top speed on trains that will run from Beijing to Shanghai will approach 350 kilometers (220 miles) an hour...

An old Japanese saying goes, "A wise man climbs Mount Fuji once, but only a fool does it twice." Which probably means that My Journey is run by a bunch of fools... we just cant get enough of this mountain! The official climbing season of Mt. Fuji is about to kick off - July 1 to the end of August...

As massive construction and land developments are being undertaken in cities across the country, everybody's saying, China is under construction! If you'd been in and out of China for a while you would realise that this is not about 2009 or global economic woes... in fact its nothing new, and has been going on for years. This year alone China will use more than 1 billion metric tons of cement, making it the largest national consumer of cement in the world, accounting for close to half of global cement consumption! Quite the figure!

Beijing did it in anticipation of the 2008 Olympic Games and now Shanghai is moving along a similar line to prepare for the 2010 World Expo. If you thought China had only one extravagant event in them this decade... think again! The coastal city is spending more than the Beijing Olympics budget, to upgrade Shanghai’s infrastructure, build new transportation links and create what organizers promise will be the biggest Expo ever...
